We are on the search for a highly creative, tenacious, results-oriented PR Account Manager who can work well on a team but also take the lead in managing PR initiatives for our clients. The ideal candidate will understand what makes a good story and will enthusiastically strive to get our clients in the news.

Public Relations


The following are the responsibilities, skills and qualifications required for the position of the

 Public Relations Account Manager:



  • Provide proactive creative ideas and strategies for meeting client objectives

  • Assist with writing, developing and executing communications plans, tactical plans and timelines

  • Implementation of day-to-day account work

  • Prepare agenda, contact reports, tracking and other progress reports

  • Interface with team and keep them updated on client status

  • Draft press releases, media advisories and develop other forms of content, as needed

  • Develop media lists in markets throughout the country

  • Connect with reporters and pitch stories until they are placed

  • Follow up with reporters and clients as required (including evenings and weekends)

  • Become liaison between selected clients and firm

  • Attend client meetings

  • Work with clients to develop news stories

  • Coordinate and manage events and press conferences

  • Participate in sales and related activities

  • Utilize and manage social media for clients and post content to client social media properties

  • Develop and manage campaigns on behalf of clients

  • Work with photographers, videographers, web designers and other creatives to ensure on-time delivery of services and products

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be a “people-person” who loves to pick up the phone and pitch stories

  • Must be able to manage multiple client accounts

  • Possess an above average aptitude for writing

  • Effective communicator with management, peers and clients

  • Must love to write creative and compelling copy

  • Ability to work well in groups and independently

  • Must be a self-starter and take initiative

  • Must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks

  • Be able to “roll” with changing priorities

  • Be well versed with social media websites

  • Experience with email marketing sites such as ConstantContact and MailChimp is a plus

  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


4 year degree in journalism, communications or related field. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
