Public Relations Coordinator


The following are the responsibilities, skills and qualifications required for the position of the Public Relations Coordinator:



  • Provide proactive creative ideas and strategies for meeting client objectives

  • Assist with writing, developing and executing communications plans, tactical plans and timelines

  • Implementation of day-to-day account work

  • Prepare agenda, contact reports, tracking and other progress reports

  • Interface with team and keep them updated on client status

  • Draft press releases, media advisories and develop other forms of content, as needed.

  • Develop media lists in markets throughout the country

  • Become liaison between selected clients and firm

  • Attend client meetings

  • Work with clients to develop news stories

  • Pitch stories to targeted media connections 

  • Coordinate and manage events and press conferences

  • Participate in sales and related activities

  • Utilize and manage social media for clients and post content to client social media properties

  • Develop and manage campaigns on behalf of clients

  • Work with photographers, videographers, web designers and other creatives to ensure on-time delivery of services and products

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Skills & Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in journalism, communications or related field. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.

  • Must be able to manage multiple client accounts

  • Possess an above average aptitude for writing

  • Effective communicator with management, peers and clients

  • Must love to write creative and compelling copy

  • Ability to work well in groups and independently

  • Must be a self-starter and take initiative

  • Must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks

  • Be able to “roll” with changing priorities

  • Be well versed with social media websites

  • Experience with email marketing sites such as ConstantContact and MailChimp is a plus

  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
